welcome to the glorious month of August;
 August is the eighth month of the year, in the Gregorian calendar, and August means the ‘Month of Augustus’. Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself. This month was originally named Sextilis in Latin, because it was the sixth month in the original ten-month Roman calendar under Romulus in 753 BC, when March was the first month of the year. About 700 BC, it became the eighth month, when January and February were added to the year. Six is the number of man, and eight is the number known for a new beginning. Sextilis is a Latin word for six, sex, and Augustus, meaning "venerable" or "revered".
We want to possess and rededicate the month of August to the Lord, as the month of victory and honor.
 
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness towards us and our family, in August 2016, we are very grateful oh Lord.
2. Heavenly Father, we approach You today not on the basis of merit, but mercy, we come in the consciousness of Christ righteousness, and we appropriate the blood of Jesus, for cleansing, where we have fallen short of Your expectation, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Father, we take hold of the blood of Jesus, and by faith we soak the month of August in the blood of Jesus Christ. We declare it cleansed of every attribute of the flesh, and we command and enforce the character of the kingdom upon it, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. By faith in God’s promise, we open the east window of 2017, and by the power of the Holy Spirit we release the Lord’s arrow of victory to completely conquer the enemy, in 2017, in the name of Jesus Christ. (2Kings 13:17)
5. We declare and prophesy that 2017, the Lord shall give us victory, and He shall answer us from His heavenly sanctuary, with the victorious power of His right hand, our enemies shall be brought to their knees and fall, but we shall rise up and stand firm, in the name of Jesus Christ. (Psalms 20:6,8)
6. We declare and prophesy that wherever we go in 2017, the Lord our God shall give us victory, and our enemy shall submit to us, in the name of Jesus Christ (2 Samuel 8:14)
7. We declare and prophesy that we shall celebrate God’s instruction and correction in 2017, and we shall not suffer poverty, or experience shame, but we shall enjoy honor, in the name of Jesus Christ. (Proverbs 13:1)
8. We declare and prophesy, double honor in places where we have suffered shame and dishonor; rejoicing in places where we have experienced confusion, and the Lord our God shall crown us with everlasting joy, in 2017, in the name of Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 61:7)
9. We declare and prophesy that, our accusers shall become our announcers, in 2017, and their program to hang us, shall be turned into a program to honor us, in the name of Jesus Christ. (Esther 6:10-11)
10. We declare and prophesy that, we shall increase in greatness and honor, and enjoy comfort on every side, in the name of Jesus Christ. (Psalms 71:21)
11. We declare and prophesy that in 2017, the Lord shall begin to show us His greatness and honor, by His mighty hand, and we shall go beyond 2014, to see His greatness and honor in the years ahead, in the name of Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 3:24-25)
12. We declare and prophesy that 2017, our promotions shall be memorable, and our achievements shall be undeniable in the name of Jesus Christ. (Esther 10:2)
